Julienne Restaurant Review

: Chef/owner Justin West and his wife, Emma, run this progressive 12-table restaurant where sustainability is key, and the menu is creative without being convoluted. The limited offerings change as often as every few days, depending on what's fresh. You'll find dishes ranging from pan-seared Scottish salmon resting on top of pappardelle in a lemon shrimp velouté, to fall-off-the-bone-tender Australian lamb shank braised in a jus of red wine, chicken stock and lamb drippings. Local ridgeback shrimp are enveloped in house-made cappelletti and plated with braised celery and a Sauternes-mustard sauce. One dinner, we enjoyed grilled quail perched on a mound of white beans, Spanish chorizo and sofrito; at another, our favorites were a duck duo offering breast and fresh sausage, and richly flavored beef cheeks. West makes his own ice cream, charcuterie and everything else you'll find on your plate. A strong wine list reflects local and international labels.
