| This place has made its name serving immense sandwich and salad platters that will simply bowl you over. We recommend the West of Santa Fe salad, which is as kitschy as its name and loaded with shredded, spiced chicken, gobs of cheese, mounds of shredded lettuce, and scoops of salsa. Also notable are the overstuffed baked potatoes and the trademarked exploded potatoes, a rambunctious take on a warmed potato salad. Desserts are few, but you won't need anything more after a substantial meal here. Tucked away in a giant industrial park, the restaurant is hard to find, but it’s worth the effort. Besides, its décor resembles a large, oddly decorated concrete factory, making a.k.a. Friscos one of the area's most interesting restaurants. |
