THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED K Town BBQ Restaurant Review:

As if getting approval and licenses to open a restaurant isn't difficult enough, Korean barbecues have the additional burden and costs of adding individual cooking elements at each table, and making sure the ventilation systems meet all safety requirements. Jason Ha managed to skirt many of those obstacles by only adding the cooking elements to outdoor tables on K Town BBQ‘s casual triangular patio. Ha offers a very accessible introduction to Korean barbecue in Little Tokyo for diners new to the cuisine at reasonable prices, as well as an inexpensive all-you-can-eat option. The menu includes beef (including tongue), chicken, pork and vegetarian dishes that can be served over rice or wrapped in lettuce leaves, but we were most intrigued with the seafood. Calamari steak was surprisingly tender and spicy hot, marinated tiger shrimp were complemented by sesame oil and soy sauce, and the tasty rock cod we were told were good for fighting off colds. The friendly staff will be happy to recommend cooking methods, time, and supplemental sauces for dipping. The free ban chan --- the eclectic supplemental dishes offered at Korean restaurants --- includes spicy kimchi, cucumber, sesame bean sprouts, and the ubiquitous mayonnaise-rich potato salad. Beer, wine and soju are available.
