 Himalaya Kabob Korner Restaurant Review: Forget the fact that it's on the outskirts of a large shopping mall, and that you order at a counter and eat with plastic utensils: this place offers well-seasoned Afghan and Nepalese dishes. Menu items include lamb skewers as well as aush, a vegetable soup thick with ground beef, beans, noodles and a dollop of yogurt. Regulars go for the vegetarian platter of basmati rice surrounded by mounds of eggplant, spinach and lentils. While everything is good, the star has to be the manto, tender, pillowy steamed dumplings filled with meat and covered with yogurt sauce. Not sure what to order? Savor a variety of dishes from the daily lunch buffet. Whether it's lunch or dinner, there's baklava for dessert. |
