Kai Market Restaurant Review: Kai Market is a quick, casual dining option that's also a good value at the Sheraton Waikiki. (The restaurant is open to visitors as well as hotel guests.) The huge, high-ceilinged space overlooks the resort's famous infinity pool as well as Waikiki Beach. The food features seasonal, locally grown ingredients. In the mornings, guests can opt to dine à la carte or buffet-style ($28.95 for hot and cold options or $21.95 for continental) that includes pastries, a bounty of fruit and dishes like scrambled eggs with Hamakua Springs Country Farms tomato salsa and Nalo Farms chives. The dinner buffet menu includes such standards as carved-to-order prime rib and sashimi stations but may also present a Korean cold chap chae noodle salad, a warming bowl of Portuguese bean soup or Chinatown roast pork served in bao buns with hoisin sauce. Desserts have ranged from a summer fresh fruit and shave ice station, to coconut haupia and a slice of all-American apple pie.
