Kanok Restaurant Review: Plenty of pan-Asian spots dot the landscape and do the concept well; this Boystown eatery is really just another to add to the mix. The cute, colorful storefront --- with mid-century-style seats at the sushi bar --- serves an interesting selection of maki and main courses. We enjoy the multiculti tropical roll with tuna, yellowtail, cilantro, cream cheese, spicy mayo, avocado, green onion, jalapeño and tempura crumb topping as well as the spicy kung pao crispy chicken. All the basics are on hand for purists, but we tend to steer clear of the ho-hum gyoza. If you’re looking to save cash, the lunch boxes, bowls and bentos are tops.
