Kapnos Taverna Restaurant Review

: Chef Mike Isabella’s transition to Greek fusion cuisine runs smoothly, as he amply demonstrates in this large Clarendon restaurant. Start with a flatbread topped with one of several Greek-inspired spreads. Of these, the most engaging is the smoky eggplant with feta and roasted peppers. You might want to add on a mezze, or small plate. We recommend the zucchini patties and the spanakopita with spinach and leeks wrapped in phyllo. Lunch entrées also include gyros, or pita bread enfolding fillings of falafel, chicken, pork or the standout lamb. Dinnertime ushers in many of the same mezzes and heartier entrées as well. For dessert, the baklava is traditional while the apple tartlet is an American take on a wedge of apple pie. Check out the wine list, which has many Greek selections and options from Italy, Spain and the U.S.
