Kay's Bar & Grill Restaurant Review

: "Bar" is the most important word at Kay's, which has served stiff drinks in the Westmoreland neighborhood for more than 75 years. But the "grill" part also deserves mention because the food is surprisingly good. Much of the menu is based upon Kay's homemade sauces, which include ketchup, Ranch dressing, blue cheese dressing, various flavored mayonnaises and salsas. Smother your item of choice (wings, chips, fries) in one of the sauces. Compose a DIY burger from a staggering array of toppings (although at 50 cents to $1 per topping the price can add up), or order a wrap, salad, mac ā€˜nā€™ cheese, burrito or hot dog, many incorporating the sauces as well. Portions are satisfyingly large. Bargain hunters will enjoy the $5 burger and brew night. Late-night entertainment includes live music, karaoke and trivia contests. Not much changes here, but a few welcome contemporary features have crept in, such as free WiFi and a smoke-free environment. The establishment is a proud sponsor of a Rose City Rollers skate team, the Break Neck Betties.
