Ken's Artisan Bakery Restaurant Review

: Many of Portland’s finest restaurants have one thing in common---they serve Ken’s Artisan Bakery breads. Visit the source on Northwest 21st Avenue to take away a few loaves, indulge in some sweet pastries, enjoy a baked treat, or simply savor lunch in the pleasant café. Founder and operator Ken Forkish fashioned his place after classic French pâtisseries and boulangeries that produce rustic loaves while instilling a sense of tradition in the community. His philosophy is simple and straightforward: use the finest fresh, local and organic ingredients and take no shortcuts. The croissants actually take three days to make---and are worth every minute. For lunch, enjoy one of several sandwiches including pulled pork on a ciabatta roll or Ken’s Hero, a mountain of Italian cured meats with Asiago cheese. There is also an ever-changing menu of fresh soups and salads. Monday is pizza night.
