Ken's Artisan Bakery Restaurant Review

: Founder and chief baker Ken Forkish waxes poetic about the zen of creating the perfect bread or pastry, and he fashioned his place after classic French pâtisseries and boulangeries that produce rustic loaves while promoting community tradition. His philosophy is simple and straightforward: use the finest fresh, local and organic ingredients, and take no shortcuts. The crispy, flaky croissants actually require three days to make; for a little variety, try the almond, chocolate, or ham and cheese versions. The morning buns are slightly sweet and fragrant with orange. For lunch, enjoy one of several sandwiches, including pulled pork on a ciabatta roll or Ken’s Hero, a mountain of Italian cured meats accented with Asiago. There is also an ever-changing menu of fresh soups and salads. Monday is pizza night. An added bonus: You can always bring home a loaf of the country blonde or country brown.
