THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Kinara Restaurant Review:
The brainchild of Christine Splichal, wife to LAs own super-chef Joachim Splichal, Kinara just might be the next wave in spa cafés. A contemplative space at the back of Splichals new day spa, this café offers more than your basic carrot stick and smoothie menu. The cuisine, created by Patinas Joachim Splichal, is creative, flavorful and nutritious, although not necessarily low in calories or fat. Instead, Kinaras menu presents the best of fresh, organic, seasonal flavors like wild salmon with artichokes, tomatoes and zucchini. There is a daily three-course lunch special which includes appetizer, entrée and dessert. A glass of wine or Champagne can be added to the prix-fixe menu for only a few extra dollars. The café also serves breakfast and an afternoon tea, the perfect showcase for the restaurants enticing menu of infusions. As you might expect from a spa restaurant, there is a wide selection of fresh squeezed organic juices and smoothies. There are also plenty of patrons lunching in spa robes, although there are an equal number of suit clad businessmen taking a breather from the daily grind in a space that exudes warmth, calm and a lifestyle of health.
