With a swanky motif that would be right at home in the French Quarter and a nouveau Creole-continental menu, Kingfish offers just the sort of eclectic-artsy-upscale experience that Left Coast diners like. You can dine on the jambalaya or perhaps the grilled ahi on a bed of baby greens, topped with a wasabi-soy aïoli that surely originated nowhere near N’awlins. There’s nary a nibble of alligator or crawfish on the menu---try sister restaurant Nola instead if that’s what you want---but the raw bar more than makes up for it. The wine list is this restaurant’s pride and joy, and with more than 500 bottles, deservedly so.
