Polished French Quarter décor and a Creole-continental menu are the traits of this sister restaurant to Nola.

With a swanky motif that would be right at home in the French Quarter and a nouveau Creole-continental menu, Kingfish offers just the sort of eclectic-artsy-upscale experience that Left Coast diners like. You can dine on the jambalaya or perhaps the grilled ahi on a bed of baby greens, topped with a wasabi-soy aïoli that surely originated nowhere near N’awlins. There’s nary a nibble of alligator or crawfish on the menu---try sister restaurant Nola instead if that’s what you want---but the raw bar more than makes up for it. The wine list is this restaurant’s pride and joy, and with more than 500 bottles, deservedly so. Desserts include decadent temptations such as the French Quarter Chocolate Bomb---Guittard chocolate ganache drizzled with raspberry sauce---and beignets with Kahlúa crème anglaise and chocolate sauce.
