THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Kings Wine Bar Restaurant Review:

Kings promises to give the quiet Kingfield neighborhood what its residents have long been waiting for: a charming, intimate place to grab a glass of wine, a salad, or brunch with a date, a friend or a good book. With a lo-fi chic that’s downright cozy, it's the kind of place where you’ll find both edgy artists and suit-and-tie lawyers side by side at the bar. The thoughtful wine list---expansive for a café this size---offers both familiar standbys and refreshing surprises, while the streamlined beer list makes friendly nods to the local (Farm Girl Saison from nearby Stillwater) and the far-flung (Belgian ales, naturally). We’re particularly enamored with the wine offerings by the glass, which rotate biweekly. The food menu, sensibly divided into “Big Bites” and “Small Bites,” changes seasonally and puts a whimsical twist on comfort food, from the downright decadent (think house-made Tater Tots with bacon and Gruyère sauce) to innovative and healthful (locally sourced beet napoleon with goat cheese). We think the simplest dishes may be the best, though, among them a killer grilled three cheese on focaccia as well as red wine-glazed short ribs. Top it off with the house-made cream puffs, order a glass of Prosecco and plan to return for breakfast crêpes in the morning.
