Kiran's Restaurant Review

: Chef Kiran Verma uses local ingredients to create dishes from Southern India with just a bit of a British take. Elegant dinners might begin with a bowl of lobster bisque with a pour of aged sherry, before progressing with a duck kebab or lump crab cakes. There’s also a selection of attractively presented Indian street food, like chaats and samosas; a well-thought-out vegetarian menu; and classic India dishes such as chicken vindaloo and seafood curry. But Verma is equally adept at turning out tandoori Texas quail, hers topped with a mixed berry chutney. Check out the afternoon tea offered every Saturday from 2 p.m.-4 p.m.

Good but not that good

Kiran's is not up to par with the prices they charge and the ambiance of the restaurant. The food is good, but not traditional Indian, it's a fusion of sorts with "light" Indian spices. When you finally get waited on and if the food makes it to the table before it's stone cold and in the same evening, then you're in for a treat. Sevice is absolutely horrible and the problem is Kiran knows it!!! Dr. Sharma is always around to offer wine selections and visit with the regulars, which unfortunatly thinning out due to the service. I like it much better back at Ashaina before she moved. I now frequent Ashaina 5 times to 1 over Kiran's, for the more traditional but gourmet Indian food.
