THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Kitchen Table Restaurant Review:

In the newly gentrified bank district of downtown L.A., Kitchen Table stands out as one of the more romantic restaurants. Enter through a charming brick building into the farmhouse-chic dining room, which is dimly lit with tightly packed wooden tables. The bar is a good nook for watching the creation of well-executed cocktails, but make no mistake, the string-light-covered rooftop patio is the place to be. Though small, chef Fernando Darin’s menu is full of intricate and intriguing dishes. Steak tartare is rich and satisfying, deepened with avocado and lemon crème fraîche. Buttery pork cheeks are tenderly braised and served atop spätzle dumplings with accompanying flavors of green apples and mustard. Fish changes daily, though our particular protein was of a crispy-skinned striped bass with artichoke hearts and saffron foam. Desserts are limited, but include a light panna cotta with orange and basil. Boutique California wines are heavily represented on the domestic-centric list, with plenty of options at very fair prices.
