Knife & Fork Restaurant Review

: Founded as a private club in 1912, this Atlantic City institution has been updated and polished to a fine sheen. Look for upscale steakhouse fare complemented by seafood dishes and an extensive wine cellar with more than 1,000 selections. The beef is U.S. Prime and nicely seasoned with sea salt and coarsely ground black pepper before it is cooked in Knife & Fork’s wood-fired grill. While tradition rules, there are some lovely surprises, such as the jalapeño sorbet served with oysters on the half shell and the Vidalia-chipotle bordelaise accompanying the herb-crusted rack of lamb. The service is practiced and the friendliness factor very high. End the meal with a lavish dessert sampler for a taste of walnut-crusted cheesecake, chocolate truffle torte, lemon pie and peanut butter mousse cup.
