Many patrons swear by the big and bulging gyro platter, a meal in itself for two dainty eaters. The grilled meat is wrapped in pita bread and the plate is piled high with fries and fried zucchini. As the name suggests, Knossos features primarily Greek-style food, although the staff whips up American staples such as hamburgers, cheeseburgers, crab-cake sandwiches and, for breakfast, hotcakes. You’d have to search pretty far to find a better gyro or souvlaki, so stick with what the Greeks do well: make a meal of these flavorful, herb-zapped, meat sandwiches.
