THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Kokachin Restaurant Review:

Live piano music every weeknight helps set the mood for a rare dining experience at this Midtown restaurant, located in the recently renovated Omni Berkshire Place hotel. Ginger crab cakes and spicy grilled shrimp salad with mesclun greens and wasabi vinaigrette are among the starters. Entrées include seared coriander-crusted tuna loin with makrut lime leaf broth and vegetable glass noodles and a 16-ounce premium hand-selected Kansas City strip steak with seared oyster mushrooms and wasabi mashed potatoes. Chocolate steamed pudding with a rich chocolate sauce and a crispy Asian rice coconut tart served with tropical fruit are fine desserts. For bargain hunters, there's always Hungry Hour at the bar. From 4:30 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, premium hors d'œuvres such as crab cakes, tuna loin, miniburgers, vegetable spring rolls, oysters and clams on the half shell are priced from $1.50 to $2.50. Kokachin also features both a breakfast and lunch buffet.
