Komo's Cocina Restaurant Review:

This brightly lit Naples Island restaurant does a good job of bringing the outside into its tiny space. Fully retractable front doors are swung open when the weather’s right, allowing the place to effortlessly capture the neighborhood’s casual yet lively ambience. This makes the space an ideal setting to indulge in a margarita or one of the 60-plus tequila selections, which include several boutique labels that aren’t easy to find elsewhere. Executive chef Downey Thomas serves smart takes on regional Mexican cuisine, in which fresh ingredients rule the day. Start with an order of queso fundido with house-made chorizo or a bowl of grilled corn topped with butter, cojita cheese and cayenne pepper. Classics like carnitas taco platters and chicken enchiladas are rather good, while bolder mains such as the shrimp diablo showcase a balance between heat and flavor. Traditional desserts, a la churros and caramel flan, are carefully prepared and worth anticipating. Weekend brunch is offered, and diners can kick off their day with a mimosa or a Bloody Mary along with huevos rancheros or chilaquiles.
