Across the Coast Highway from the infamous Cardiff statue called "The Kook," you'll find this bustling café that specializes in surfer food like bulging burritos, tacos, wraps and all-day breakfasts. Try the healthy Kook scramble loaded with vegetables like asparagus, spinach, zucchini, mushrooms and bell peppers, or the surfer omelet with bacon, avocado, cheese and tomatoes. We'll return for the slow-roasted kahlua pork enlivened with avocado pico de gallo and jalapeño cream sauce. Surf movies play in the background as Ugg-wearing, salty-hair girls order up monster smoothies or blended coffee drinks, while baseball-capped, tattooed guys nosh on giant plates. This high-energy spot is owned by the same folk as Swami's Café. It's counter-service only by day, with table service at night.
