The Loui family operates this spotless dining room on the way to Haleakala Crater. Once a country inn with guest cottages, it is now open just during the day. Be glad, because there is no other really good place to eat nearby. The view is spectacular and the food fresh and home cooked in style. The eggs Benedict is so good you'll forget about cholesterol. The open-faced country omelet with locally grown potatoes and toast from bread they make in their kitchens is also hard to turn down. If you love pancakes or waffles, order them here. There is nothing trendy about the menu, but most of the produce is island-grown and well-prepared. Lunches include simple fare such as hamburgers, sandwiches and salads. There's always a basket at the cash register of homemade cookies packaged to go. Don't resist.
