THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED La Condesa Restaurant Review

: Contemporary Mexican food for a reasonable price is available just outside the American Airlines Center front doors. Sip on a signature cocktail made from one of 60 tequilas while considering the Austin-bred menu---and by that we mean chef Austin Fry, although the Texas town also lands on La Condesa’s radar. Forget the mediocre queso offered at other Mexican joints; this chorizo and mushroom version makes it hard to save room for much else. The grilled corn is competition for the Mexico City street food: it’s grilled, brushed with mayo, sour cream and chile powder mix and then coated in cotija cheese. Move on to the cheese taquitos influenced by southern Mexico; savor the fried, ricotta-filled corn tortilla topped with radish crudo. Chicken enchiladas are made with rotisserie chicken and caramelized onions, topped with Chihuahua cheese and accompanied by a tangy pasilla chile sauce. Sopapillas, crispy fried pastries sweetened with honey and served with cinnamon dulce de leche ice cream, make dessert a must.
