THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED La Fondue Bourguignonne Restaurant Review: THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS CLOSED Every decade or so, fondue becomes trendy, then quickly disappears. It happens to be getting popular again, but this restaurant is clearly a remnant of a bygone era. The three-course fondue dinner---cheese, meats (chunks of filet mignon, chicken, seafood, and veggies cooked in a vat of oil) and chocolate---hardly inspires, and prices are not particularly attractive either. The room, with simple chandeliers, wood-beamed ceiling and displayed china, is a 70s interpretation of a rustic French auberge. Sturdy wooden tables have built-in ranges for the main attraction. |
