These days, it may be hard to find a traditional, fresh-baked croissant and classic French macaroon outside Paris. Except at La Fournette, opened by master baker Pierre Zimmermann. Choose from plain, almond or chocolate-filled goodies, fudgy financier and little macaroons paired with strong Intelligentsia coffee and espresso drinks. Or, make a lunch of croque monsieur draped in traditional creamy béchamel sauce, quiches, salads and savory and sweet crêpes made fresh. A local carpenter constructed the entire set of rustic wooden chairs and tables, wood-framed serving boards and serving counter. Wrought iron shelving with baguettes and take-home treats like homemade jams and caramel add a certain French flair.
