La Galerie Restaurant Review

: For years, La Galerie proposed snack food to its guests. According to the will of Christian Le Squer, executive chef of the hotel George V, the place now lives up to the expectations of refined foodies. Diners enjoy subtle preparations amid a sumptuous setting decked out with Flemish tapestries, chandeliers, paintings and plush armchairs. Chef David Bizet has 15 years of experience in the hotel. Without looking to innovate, he treats first-rate ingredients with the right seasonings and sauces. Melting yolk figures among his signatures dishes, topped by caviar grains on watercress gravy. Lamb chops are tasty, perfectly grilled, complemented with garlic and accompanied by glazed carrots and crystallized lemon moss. The dessert is refined as well: raspberry morsels and ice cream with crusty hibiscus. A sommelier is on hand to propose the right pairings thanks to a well-stocked cellar.
