THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED La Grande Orange Santa Monica Restaurant Review

: LGO Santa Monica, on the ground floor of a Main Street apartment complex---Le Boulangerie, a hip ’60s gathering place, once sat on this site---is a bustling neo-industrial space that is alive all day long. It’s a kicked-up version of Pasadena’s La Grande Orange, and the kitchen utilizes ingredients from the nearby Santa Monica Farmers Market. You can drop in for quick cappuccino and LGO’s famous English muffins, or upgrade to a full breakfast like huevos rancheros or a nifty portobello Benedict. At lunch, guests tuck into soft taco platters, a satisfying tuna burger with chipotle aïoli, or a spirited “Evil Princess” Thai-inspired salad. At night, you can hang at the prominent bar, or enjoy a leisurely dinner that might begin with a sushi roll followed by steak frites, pastas or miso-glazed salmon. Desserts are very respectable, including a lovely red velvet cake or banana cream pie. The wine list skews toward boutique California producers, and you can grab any bottle from the wine list to take home to your own dining room.
