THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED La Luna Restaurant Review:
The tiny, lemon-yellow room with cobalt-blue accents and quaint moon-and-star tchotchkes has found a local following for its off-the-beaten-path take on Nuevo Latino cuisine. An empanada starter arrives looking like it's straight from grandma's kitchen with a plump half moon and a beautiful, hand-pressed, scalloped edge. Just a bite reveals a firm-yet-flaky dough which gives temporary structure to either juicy spiced beef or piquant shredded chicken with peppers and cilantro. Entrées like the yellowtail snapper with a lemon-cilantro sauce or the Asada sirloin dressed with ancho chili aioli and a roasted tomato salsa capture the best of the kitchen. A family-run feel pervades the room and smoothes out any anxiety that can arise from the occasionally disorganized service.
