LA MARINA IS CLOSED FOR RENOVATION FROM NOVEMBER 17, 2005 TO LATE MARCH 2006. For fine dining in an elegant room looking over lush lawns to the Pacific Ocean, the Four Seasons' La Marina remains Santa Barbara's sentimental favorite. The Four Seasons folks have brightened up the classic room and brought in executive chef Martin Frost, a Brit with a tender touch for Pacific Rim dishes and a creative style of presentation. Dinner here is a world-class experience. The menu changes weekly, but often features longtime favorites such as rare ahi tuna wrapped in phyllo and roast rack of Colorado lamb with an artichoke, potato and feta cheese strudel. On Sundays, hundreds of people troop into La Marina for the town's most lavish buffet. Champagne and conversation flow freely throughout the dining room. The tariff is $47, a fair price for the bounty of carefully crafted food awaiting your plate.
