La Mascota Restaurant Review:

This traditional Mexico City cantina is where during lunch hour---say, between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.---along with your drinks you are served generous helpings of botanas (Mexican tapas) free of charge. La Mascota has been in business since 1941, no doubt due largely to its appealing food. On each day there are six or seven courses available---black bean soup, stewed pork shank, meatballs in chile sauce, breaded chicken breast in green tomato sauce. The waiters will keep it coming until you cry uncle; how much you can eat will also depend on how much you can drink. An annoying waiter will try to get you to participate in a raffle for cheap bottles of tequila and rum.
