La Poste is a lovely little restaurant that sits only a few blocks from the Sonoma Square. This place seats only 27, and wouldn't seem out of place off St. Germain Des Pres. Country French, in an urbane way, next to the Sonoma Post Office (hence the name), La Poste is a delight for locals, and lucky visitors in-the-know. You'll find excellent roasted carrot and fennel soup, duck profiteroles, tarte Tatin and a mud bath's worth of hearty mousse du chocolate. A modest wine list includes many simple yet pleasant French selections.
