| Chef Nino Germano's cuisine is served in airy dining rooms that are still cozy enough to match the unpretentious quality of his classic Italian kitchen. Basics like minestrone thick with vegetables and polenta with porcini mushroom sauce are soulful in his hands. With such traditional favorites like scampi with garlic, veal piccata, and chicken Parmigiana available, La Scala offers good home-style cooking in a relaxed atmosphere. Which doesn’t mean that there’s nothing new here: La Scala has introduced a salumeria, with imported meats and cheeses hand-sliced to order. And this is the only place in town with its own indoor bocce ball court. |
