| Chef Nino Germano's cuisine is served in airy dining rooms that are still cozy enough to match the unpretentious quality of his classic Italian kitchen. Basics like minestrone thick with vegetables and polenta with porcini mushroom sauce are soulful in his hands. And traditional favorites like scampi with garlic, veal piccata and chicken Parmigiana transcend the tired execution of the competition in the red-sauce joints that pepper this old Italian neighborhood. There's good home-style cooking to be had here in a relaxed atmosphere. And this is the only place in town with its own indoor bocce ball court. |
