THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED La Strada Restaurant Review:
A family-run neighborhood restaurant the size of a very large cushion, La Strada thrives on good, homey Italian food, chewy breads, some robust Italian wines, and a cheerful host-father-manager who oversees the front of the house while his son does the cooking. La Strada stars several traditional antipasti, including fritto misto, bruschetta, and prosciutto e melone, but watch out when the chef throws a curve or two. How about turnip and beet carpaccio with Gorgonzola, fresh house-made mozzarella with oven-dried or seasonal heirloom tomatoes, halibut with a porcini crust, and pappardelle with bluefin tuna and oregano? Check the specials board where you might find a crusted rockfish or perhaps a lamb steak with polenta. Be sure to end up with one of the house desserts; the best bet here is the Italian ricotta cheesecake.
