| Situated where upscale eateries greet hungry diners on a pedestrian-only, brick-paved downtown corridor, La Strada --- Italian for "The Street" --- is a swanky nod to its namesake film by Federico Fellini. The restaurant is owned and operated by Terry Tarantino of Little Italy’s La Dolce Vita. The ambience and décor are especially welcoming with lots of attention paid to small details. For dinner, start with the calamari served with a spicy tomato sauce, then move on to any of the flatbreads. Our favorite is the lamb, served with hummus and toasted cumin. Kebabs arrive with a mountain of couscous. For those looking to round out their dinner with something sweet, try the tiramisu. Or simply cleanse your palate with some drunken fruit. Note: Service is spotty at this East 4th Street establishment. |
