| When customers enter this spacious deli, they often make a beeline to the food counter to place their orders for juicy roast pork, flaky empanadas, soft tacos of the chicken-cilantro or chicken-chipotle variety, tamales and ropa vieja. While they wait, they may pick up plantains, chorizo, rum or other groceries, or they find a table and nosh on guacamole and salsa. This destination store and kitchen has been 30 years in the making, and its shady patio is a favorite place for longtime customers to shoot the breeze in the summer months.
