THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Landbrot Restaurant Review:

The name for country bread in German, Landbrot in the West Village has made the most of a space that was at one time a gas station. A smattering of tables, a bar next to the beer tap and a second floor banquette (which gets hot during the summer) are often occupied by diners consuming open-face sandwiches, salads, pretzels and, naturally, sausages. Four good beers on tap and a handful of central European wines make this bakery/restaurant more appealing. The better-than-average brats come in a forgettable bun with a side of baked kraut. The schnitzel is tender and generally devoid of greasiness. And for the sweet tooth, there are dozens of traditional German treats from which to choose.
