Lang Van Restaurant Review: Don’t be deterred by the décor, the music or the location in a nondescript shopping strip mall. Just focus on the food. Authentic Vietnamese dishes and good service make Lang Van worth the trip. Favorites include goi cuon (fresh summer rolls) and chim cut (crispy quails), both fine for sharing, while entrée highlights include banh xeo (Vietnamese yellow pancake), a vegetarian special, and bun tom, thit nuong, cha gio (vermicelli combination). Servers happily help those new to Vietnamese cuisine with suggestions and explanations. And who needs a Red Bull when Lang Van offers the potent café sua da drink that packs a wallop in both the flavor and caffeine departments. The restaurant serves beer and wine, but neither will supply anything particularly out of the ordinary. Tea usually does very nicely with the food.
