Las Delicias II Restaurant Review: These locally-owned Mexican outlets turn out pedestrian south-of-the-border fare in a semi-upscale setting, and while it's popular and patrons fill these squeaky clean places for three squares a day, it's difficult to comprehend the allure, save for the first-rate salsa and generous portions. Other than that, Mexican cuisine snobs won't find much to ballyhoo --- not the greasy (and woefully mild) green chile, lukewarm and tasteless beans, dry chicharonnes or ubiquitous combination plates that arrive laden with yellow neon cheese. On the upside, service is friendly and efficient and the prices are cheap. |
