Ray and Lynn Lasher’s cozy, converted 1920 bungalow is not only romantic but perhaps also Long Beach's best bet for regional American comfort foods like Maryland crab cakes, slow-baked meatloaf and Prime steaks. Ray worked for Gilliland's in Santa Monica, and he brings a Westside sensibility to the proceedings here. Best bets include bacon-wrapped sea scallops with grilled pineapple relish, a terrific Prime filet with smoked cheddar potatoes gratin and an elegant Key lime pie.
