RESTAURANT NEWS

Openings

Chef Kim Canteenwalla and Elizabeth Blau, the husband-and-wife team behind neighborhood favorites Honey Salt and Made L.V., will open Andiron Steak & Sea at Downtown Summerlin. Set to open in March, the 8,338-square-foot fine dining concept will be situated on the north side of the mega-mall on Festival Plaza Drive, and will be the closest restaurant to Red Rock Resort, across the way. Chef Canteenwalla will create an "homage to all things, grilled, roasted, shucked and seared," with a menu featuring premium meats, shellfish, seafood and seasonal market sides. Named after the metal support used for holding up logs in a fireplace, the restaurant’s wood-fired grill will be a visual and cooking centerpiece, with chef Joseph Zanelli overseeing operations. The restaurateur couple has selected designer Thomas Schlesser’s Design Bureaux, Inc. to do the décor. Schlesser looks to create a bright dining room with light woods and floral patterns, giving a decidedly feminine twist. Andiron Steak & Sea, Downtown Summerlin, 1980 Festival Plaza Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89135, 702-685-4015.
