Openings

Public School 702 has opened at Downtown Summerlin in the Dining Arroyo. The 14,000-square-foot gastropub features a school theme that is celebrated throughout, with accoutrements such as a book case with encyclopedias, chalkboards, to-go bags labeled "homework" and a menu in the style of a composition book. The seasonal offerings from executive chef Phil Kastel includes crispy Buffalo cauliflower with bleu cheese aioli, crispy ahi tuna tacos, shrimp and white cheddar grits, and Jidori brick chicken and white bean ragout. The menu is complemented by a craft beer list of 24 drafts and 14 bottles and cans. Happy hour, dubbed "recess," takes place weekdays from 4 p.m.-7 p.m., and is available in the spacious bar and patio, with a view of the Strip from its second-level perch. Tequila Taqueria has opened at Bally’s Las Vegas serving classic Mexican dishes. Owned by Planet Hollywood International, the 80-seat restaurant and bar is open seven days a week from noon-6 a.m. Its décor features revolución imagery, vintage tortilla presses and other cultural icons. The menu is complemented by fresh-pressed corn and flour tortillas, which are hand-rolled with fresh ingredients. A selection of 37 premium tequilas and 10 Mexican beers are served. SW Steakhouse to Close July 27-August 14 for Renovations
SW Steakhouse at Wynn Las Vegas temporarily closed July 27th for a $1.1 million renovation, with a scheduled reopening August 14, 2015. During the closure, signature dishes from SW Steakhouse will be served at Lakeside, located adjacent to the Steakhouse, by executive chef David Walzog, who oversees both venues. Bazaar Meat by Chef José Andrés Offering 10-dish Tasting Menu
Bazaar Meat by Chef José Andrés at the SLS Las Vegas is offering a 10-dish summer tasting dinner. Priced at $65 per person, the menu includes chicharrón, Ferran Adrià olives, a bagel and lox cone, croquetas de Jamón, beef and Parmesan grissini, Chateaubriand tenderloin, Robuchon potatoes, grilled asparagus and a dessert of cream puffs and assorted tarts. D.O.C.G. Now Open for Lunch at The Cosmo
Scott Conant’s D.O.C.G. at The Cosmopolitan is now serving lunch daily, starting at 11 a.m. The new lunch menu includes items such as a porchetta sandwich with spiced pork belly, broccoli rabe and fried egg; antipasto salad with soppressata, provolone and red wine vinaigrette; and margherita pizza. Buddy V’s Offering the Boss’ Express Lunch Special
Buddy V’s Ristorante inside the Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian is offering the Boss’ Express Lunch Special. Available through August 31 for $22 per person, the three-course meal includes selections from owner Buddy Valastro’s family recipes with appetizer choices of tomato and basil soup, Caesar salad, Grandma’s meatballs or panzanella salad; a main course of pizza Margherita, chicken parm, meatball sub, spaghetti Bolognese, grilled salmon (add $5) or bucatini carbonara; and a dessert of cannoli, tiramisu, or sorbet or gelato and biscotti. Chef Shuffle

Charlie Palmer has brought in two new team members to leadership roles at Aureole at Mandalay Bay. Parisian-born and classically trained Arnaud Masset is the new executive chef, and Nicole Erle has taken over as executive pastry chef. Masset has worked at numerous restaurants throughout France, and brings more than 15 years of Las Vegas experience. He's spent time in the kitchens at Vdara, Rio, Aria, MGM, Alize, André’s Downtown and was most recently executive chef of Palms Casino Resort. Masset replaces Vincent Pouessel, who left in June to take the executive chef position at Daniel Boulud’s DB Brasserie at The Venetian. Nicole Erle, a graduate of The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY, joins the Aureole team after serving as executive pastry chef for all of Wolfgang Puck’s seven Las Vegas restaurants. After helming Charlie Palmer’s Aureole at Mandalay Bay since 2003, Vincent Pouessel has left and taken the executive chef position at Daniel Boulud’s DB Brasserie at The Venetian. He replaced David Middleton. Prior to working at Aureole, Pouessel, who hails from Acigné outside Rennes in Brittany, France, was at the Le Jules Verne restaurant located inside the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
