Rock & Rita's opened at Circus Circus over the Fourth of July weekend. Flair bartending, live music and signature Caribbean dishes are featured at the 14,000-square-foot party spot. The menu features "The Ulcerator," a 10-ounce burger dusted with Cajun spices and topped with smoked ham, pepper jack cheese, jalapeños, fried onion rings and Butt Burnin' Blaze Sauce along with decadent hot dogs, a meatloaf sandwich and a grilled Cuban. Pan-Asian restaurant Social House has reopened in Crystals at CityCenter. The new eatery is located on the second floor of Crystals with an enclosed dining area, along with an open dining terrace overlooking the first-floor shopping areas. Social House Executive Chef Joe Elevado has developed a menu with an eclectic blend of Asian tastes prepared with the fresh ingredients and a keen eye for presentation. The new menu will retain many of the dishes, while showcasing chef Elevado's extensive travels to places like Jakarta, Indonesia.
 
Lolita's Cantina & Tequila Bar, the latest concept created by The Medusa Group, is set to open in July 2010 at Town Square. The restaurant and nightclub combines the style and energy of South Beach, the spirit of Baja and the tradition of Mazatlan. The restaurant will offer lunch, dinner and after-hours fare. Lolita's Cantina & Tequila Bar features traditional, regional Mexican cuisine with a modern twist. Chef Carlo Cavallo has created a diverse menu of authentic Mexican specialties, regional classics. Smashburger is opening its second Las Vegas location. The new location plans to offer its line of Las Vegas regional menu items including the Sin City smashburger, the all-nighter salad and the caramel Häagen-Dazs shake. The smashburger contains a one-third or half-pound ball of certified Angus Beef, a fried egg, applewood smoked bacon, American cheese, grilled onions, haystack onions and smash sauce on an artisan egg bun. The all-nighter salad contains romaine and iceberg lettuce topped with chopped Applewood smoked bacon, fried eggs, guacamole, fresh diced tomatoes, haystack onions and cheddar cheese with buttermilk ranch dressing. Yard House opened its second Las Vegas location inside Red Rock Resort. The restaurant, also located at Town Square, offers lunch, dinner and late-night dining. The menu features American fusion foods and 130 beers on tap. Indoor and outdoor seating can accommodate 557 guests. A glass-enclosed keg room houses as much as 5,000 gallons of beer at a time. Signature at MGM Grand Offers Signature Dish In-Room Cooking Demonstrations
The Signature at MGM Grand is now offering an in-suite television channel, Signature Dish, where guests can learn step-by-step cooking demonstrations to prepare dishes. The three 30-minute TV segments are guided by Signature Executive Chef Uday Huja and Executive Sous Chef Patrick Hoefler. Guests can prepare scallop risotto, tandoori chicken curry or baked ziti in their full-service, in-suite kitchens. In-Suite Dining at the resort sells all of the ingredients for a party of four. Las Vegas Restaurant Week Announces Participating Restaurants
Las Vegas Restaurant Week has announced some of the culinary destinations that plan to be a part of this weeklong celebration of fine dining, which takes place from August 30-September 5. Participating restaurants offer prix-fixe meals at special prices, and a portion of each bill goes to Three Square to help end hunger in Southern Nevada. The restaurants on board include American Fish, Cafe Bellagio, Michael Mina Bellagio, Fix, Yellowtail Sushi Restaurant & Bar, Jasmine, Osteria del Circo, Prime, Sensi, Todd English's Olives, Japonais , Sage, The Verandah, the Steak House at Circus Circus, Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab, Agave, Andre's Restaurant and Lounge, Vintner Grill and Wolfgang Puck Bar and Grill. More than 80 different restaurants will be part of the special event.
 
Take a Journey to Asia with MOzen Bistros Tasting Menu
MOzen Bistro at Mandarin Oriental is featuring a weekly four-course tasting menu to offer guests an expanded adventure into fine Asian cuisine. The rotating menu gives diners a chance to taste food from Japan, China, India and Thailand. The tasting menu changes weekly. Guests who mention that they read about the tasting menu in the media or on Facebook will receive a complimentary flight of sake or wine when they order from it. Wolfgang Puck Pizzeria & Cucina Takes Over Brasserie Puck Location at Crystals
Wolfgang Puck Pizzeria & Cucina, featuring the chef's wood-oven baked pizzas, opened at Crystals at CityCenter in the former Brasserie Puck space. The casual dining spot offers handmade pastas, antipasti, salads and Italian fare. Look for the Margherita pizza with burrata mozzarella, tomato sauce and basil; Italian meat pizza with pepperoni, salami, sopresatta and smoked ricotta cheese; wild mushroom pizza with mozzarella cheese, caramelized onions and fresh herbs; and the vegetable pizza with baby squash, blossoms, cherry tomatoes and ricotta.
