Openings

In early 2017, brothers Michael and David Morton will introduce a new steakhouse concept at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Their father, Arnie Morton, founded Morton’s The Steakhouse in 1978. Along with his wife Jenna, Michael opened N9NE Steakhouse at the Palms in 2001 and currently owns La Comida in Downtown Las Vegas, La Cave at Wynn, and Crush at MGM Grand. David owns Ada St., County Barbeque, four DMK Burger Bars, Fish Bar, Henry’s and Rec Room in the Chicago area. Their brother Peter opened Hard Rock Hotel in 1995. The new 175-seat, yet-to-be-named steakhouse will occupy approximately 7,000 square feet and be located on the ground floor in the hotel’s expansion tower, next to Center Bar and across from Vanity nightclub. Eggslut has opened a location at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. The concept started as a food truck in Los Angeles, then continued to gain a following for its gourmet egg sandwiches with a quick-service counter at Grand Central Market. Hard Rock Hotel & Casino has opened Nevada’s first Goose Island Pub. The pub serves the beers of Goose Island, one of Chicago’s original craft beer companies, and pours Goose 312 Wheat Ale, Goose Four Star Pils, Goose Green Line Pale Ale, Goose Honker’s Ale, Goose IPA, Matilda, Sofie and Summertime Kölsch on tap; bottles of Goose Island Bourbon County; and a wide selection of wines and liquor. The pub-style food menu includes cast-iron Chicago pizza dip — marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, basil and giardiniera; South Side deli with corned beef, coleslaw, tomato and mustard made with Goose Honker’s Ale; and a shrimp po’ boy with fried shrimp, lettuce, tomato and Creole mayo made with Goose 312 Wheat Ale. DB Brasserie Offering Special Pre-Bash Brunch and Pre-Bash Dinner Menus Through Labor Day Weekend
DB Brasserie at The Venetian is offering Pre-Bash Brunch and Pre-Bash Dinner menus through Labor Day. The brunch, available Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. for $19, includes fresh fruit and pastry basket and choice of bacon, short rib or smoked salmon eggs Benedict; parmesan and spinach omelet with sausage, Canadian bacon or smoked salmon; or brioche French toast with fruit, sorbet and Chantilly. Bottomless mimosas and bloody marys are an additional $20. The dinner, available Thursday through Saturday from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. or 9:30 p.m.-11 p.m. for $36, includes choice of Caesar or iceberg and blue cheese salad; roasted chicken breast, seared salmon or grilled flat iron steak; and dessert of warm lemon madeleines. Bottomless domestic draft beer and house wine are an additional $20 and family-style sides of glazed carrots, super green spinach, brussels sprouts, roasted asparagus, potato purée, french fries and potato Lyonnaise may be added for $5 per side. Grand Lux Café Introduces Express Lunch Buffet
The Grand Lux Café at The Palazzo is now offering an Express Lunch Buffet with 40 offerings including chicken and shrimp jambalaya, spicy ginger beef, miso salmon, chicken picatta, southwestern chicken salad, Mediterranean salad, chicken pot pies, house-made soups, deli meats, a pasta bar, omelet station, mini dessert favorites such as key lime pie and crème brulee, and coffee, iced tea and fountain sodas. Fleming’s Offering Complimentary Wine Tastings
Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar is offering complimentary tastings of all of its 100 wines by-the-glass, pouring two select wines per night through August 20, 2016. Dragon Noodle Co. & Sushi Bar Celebrates 20th Anniversary with $20 Special
To commemorate 20 years on the Las Vegas Strip, Dragon Noodle Co. & Sushi Bar at Monte Carlo has created a special anniversary menu. Available through July 31 and priced at $20, the offer includes guests’ choice of egg-flower soup or hot-and-sour soup, as well as vegetable spring rolls or pot stickers. Diners also get two entrees of their choice, the options being Singapore noodles with baby shrimp and BBQ pork, Hong Kong chow mein with chicken, BBQ pork and shrimp, Mongolian beef, beef with broccoli, orange-peel chicken, kung pao chicken, or mu shu pork. In addition, a portion of the proceeds from every Hong Kong chow mein ordered off the regular menu will go to Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth. Triple George Grill to Celebrate 11th Anniversary with Food and Drink Specials Throughout July
Triple George Grill, one of the first independent eateries to emerge at the start of downtown Las Vegas’ revitalization, will celebrate its 11th anniversary with month-long food and drink specials throughout July. Specials include half-priced fried chicken and black cherry lemon drops, available July 1 to July 7; half-off George burgers and green chili gimlets from July 8 to July 14; half-off pot roast and salted caramel martinis from July 15 to July 21; and half-off porcini-crusted ribeye and 1800’s Sazerac from July 22 to July 31. Glutton Introduces Dog-friendly Brunch
Glutton in downtown Las Vegas has launched “Bark-and-Bites,” a dog-friendly brunch held on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the restaurant’s shaded, sidewalk-accessible patio. New brunch items include a wild mushroom omelette with goat cheese and breakfast potatoes; yeast-risen pancakes with cultured butter and maple cider syrup; a breakfast sandwich with house-made sausage, caramelized onions, soft scrambled eggs, spicy bacon mayo, cheddar and duck-fat potatoes; and a breakfast salad of wild greens, bacon, soft poached egg, and duck-fat potatoes. Red Rock Resort Unveils Whiskey and Cigar Experience at Onyx Bar
Red Rock Casino, Resort & Spa has revamped the on-site Onyx Bar, adding all-new furnishings, classic hand-picked fine cigars, and an upscale beverage program with more than 70 one-of-a-kind barrel-aged whiskeys, bourbons, ryes and single-malt scotches. A private VIP room with seating for 10 guests is also available. Lagasse's Stadium at The Palazzo has unveiled a new happy hour, served Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Several items are priced at $10 each, including caprese salad; beer-battered shrimp on blue cheese coleslaw with creole tomato glaze; salmon carpaccio; steamed mussels in a beer broth with grilled french bread; truffle prosciutto crostini with herb goat cheese; beef sliders with cheddar cheese, caramelized onion & seasoned fries; and Buffalo chicken sliders topped with blue cheese coleslaw and seasoned fries. Szechuan restaurant Lao Sze Chuan at Palms Casino Resort has closed, after owner Tony Hu pled guilty in federal court in Chicago to multiple charges, including wire fraud and money laundering. The case alleged that he hid more than $10 million in cash receipts at nine of his restaurants to skirt paying $1.1 million in Illinois sales taxes. The restaurant had been open since September 2014 and served a vast menu with more than 110 dishes. The restaurant has been replaced with China House, with the same opening hours, a smaller menu, and a new all-you-can-eat hot pot special for $29.95. Lao Sze Chuan, Palms Casino Resort, 4321 W.
