Laurie Raphael Restaurant Review

: Laurie Raphaël’s distinctive design elements will make you feel as if you’re entering a work of art, not a restaurant. Visuals are grand: the glazed ceramic tiles of a mobile alternate from green to yellow, red to mauve. Designers and artisans produce unique tableware, kitchen tools, dishes or glassware; the quirky table décor is for show and for sale. The Chef, Chef! menu allows for some improvisation by the one-time TV show host, chef Daniel Vézina. Slow-cooked salmon is refreshing and light while other mains like pork belly with wild mushrooms pie and roasted garlic sauce are on a heavier plane. Also of note are the purées and selection of cheeses. The meal ends with a ball of cotton candy that has more aesthetic appeal than culinary merit.
