THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Lavande Restaurant Review

: Lavande offers a menu firmly rooted in the flavors and textures of the Mediterranean. The seaside location begs one to start with the lobster bisque with crème fraîche and lobster oil, or the pan seared scallops with braised short ribs and lobster mushrooms. Entrées include a pan-seared venison mignon with wild mushrooms and brandied apples but again we're drawn to the fruits of the sea: pan-crisped loup de mer with basil nage and a confit of shallots, garlic and tomatoes, or the grilled ahi loin with a fennel-garlic purée and warm Provençal olives. The chef also offers a composed menu of three moderately sized savory courses, one fruit and cheese course, and a choice of desserts. The views of the Pacific have never been more stunning and the atmosphere of glass, sea and sun (or sunsets) is one of the most impressive settings along the coast. A finale starring the noted dessert of warm chocolate cake with gianduja ice cream and espresso sauce or anise-scented apple Napoleon with green apple sorbet will be appreciated even more in these surroundings.
