Le Baudelaire, located in the luxury hotel Le Burgundy just off the Madeleine Church, features a comfortable dining room with an idyllic patio. Chef Pierre Rigothier, who honed his chops in Laurent and L’Espadon, crafts topnotch products in accordance with the seasons. In the winter, expect to find black truffles and scallops on the menu, and during springtime, squid, morel mushrooms and red mullet. Ingredients are showcased with a touch of creativity in his subtle cuisine. As a starter, duck foie gras is perfumed with grapefruit and pomelo and served in a wine sauce. The Bresse chicken is roasted and sided by macaroni au gratin, chanterelles and slivers of black truffle. For dessert, choose from the pastries brought on a trolley (chocolate dome, pistachio and raspberry tart) or from the creations of Yann Couvreur, which might include original renditions of the millefeuille and the chocolate tart. The wine list is appealing, with a great selection of Champagnes and Burgundies.
