Longtime Philadelphia restaurant tries to change with the times.
THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Le Bec-Fin Restaurant Review:
This beloved French restaurant, under new ownership from founding chef-owner Georges Perrier, has undergone several key staff changes since its 2012 reopening. Current chef Steven Eckerd, formerly of Vetri and New York's Daniel, is taking a more seasonal approach emphasizing local ingredients. Think dishes such as terrine of Hudson Valley foie gras; seared potato gnocchi with roasted romaine and prosciutto; and a bouillabaisse of Atlantic black bass, charred octopus and sea urchin roe. Those wishing to sample the Le Bec-Fin experience on a more limited budget can now choose to dine à la carte in the main dining room, while even more affordable options are available in the downstairs bar.
