Le Boeuf Maillot, Paris, france

Le Boeuf Maillot Restaurant Review

: Near the Porte Maillot, this friendly bistro belongs to the Menut family, who own several establishments in the area, such as Chez Georges, Bellagio and Le Ballon des Ternes. The setting is decked out in warm tones, with wooden tables, red and white checkered napkins, mirrors on the wall, banquettes and a counter. The menu leans heavily on meat, with strong items such as the warm beef cheek salad with ravigote sauce, Iberian pork fillet, and Salers beef accompanied by diverse sauces like a chimichurri from Argentina. The daily special may feature Angus marbled beef imported from the U.S. and served with french fries, salad or homemade pommes dauphine. For dessert, the vanilla ice cream with roasted hazelnuts and salted butter caramel coulis is a sure bet. Match your meal with a glass of wine, such as the heady 2010 Médoc Saint-Julien Les Fiefs de Lagrange.
