THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Le Cafe du Jardin Restaurant Review:

You find this Covent Garden restaurant on a small corner site, with a basement room which boasts a pianist in the evenings. Dishes are mainstream and classic as in twice-baked soufflé with courgette and sharp blue cheese or deep-fried crab cake with spring onion risotto, tomato relish and chilli oil. Grilled swordfish with tomato mash and basil pesto shows more imagination, as does a braised leg of rabbit with cream, mushrooms and artichokes and roast leeks. Desserts follow a similar well-trod path, perhaps apple tart with caramel and Chantilly cream. The menu is long and should suit everyone. Pre- and post-theatre and set lunch menus are a steal in this area: £13.50 for two courses and coffee; £16.50 for three. The wine list starts at £11.50 a bottle, and ranges honestly through the prices and regions.
