Le Chateau Restaurant Review: Le Château features contemporary French cuisine in a 100-year-old Tudor-style mansion overlooking the Hudson River Valley. The view is striking as is the elegant space marked by wood paneled walls and pressed white tablecloths. Starters offer such creative renditions of classics as the foie gras ravioli with duck consommé, Italian parsley and shaved truffle, and a savory French onion soup dripping with Gruyère. Entrées like the poached pink Florida snapper papillotte with lobster mousseline, lobster broth and white as well as green asparagus, and the loin of venison with sweet potato and apple gratin, Brussels sprouts, garlic and a demi glaze are complex and well-rendered. For a more laid-back dining experience, check out JP’s Bistro on the second floor serving a full menu, wines and cocktails in a cozy setting, complete with fireplace and live entertainment.
