 Le Chateau Restaurant Review: For those who want to dine like an American aristocrat --- at least for one night --- this is the place. Le Château features contemporary French cuisine in a 100-year-old Tudor-style mansion overlooking the Hudson River Valley. The view is striking as is the elegant space marked by wood paneled walls and pressed white tablecloths. Warm duck salad with mesclun, drizzled with balsamic vinaigrette; and a tomato crab meat napoleon with saffron mayonnaise are classic French beginnings among the “les préambules froids.” Sautéed cod is delicate, fragrant and flaky, and paired with black olive mashed potatoes and tomato saffron fondue, while the Châteaubriand for two is prepared in the classic style, and well worth the splurge. |
