Le Fat Restaurant Review:

Influenced by decades of French presence in Indochina, as Southeast Asia was then known, Vietnamese fare blends its own dishes, such as pho and spring rolls, with a French touch in sweets and breads. Le Fat exemplifies this in a well-done bowl of mussels with lemongrass and saké perfuming the broth. Grilled bread helps to sop up the flavorful remnants. Other traditional options include green papaya salad and the classic "shaking" beef. Some of the selections are served family-style. For dessert, the pear dumpling is a return to French fashion, but the accompanying black sesame ice cream unifies both in a fine meal-ender. The wine list is good for starters, but a Gewürztraminer is needed to accompany the Vietnamese curry chicken and a rosé would complement much of the food. If you like Vietnamese coffee, which is very sweet, it's there to wrap up your repast. Note that there’s a high noise level. Service is not especially well trained.
