Le Mistral Restaurant Restaurant Review

: French brothers David and Sylvain Denis --- David runs the kitchen and Sylvain is in charge of the French wine list --- bring a taste of France to the West side of the city with the very elegant Le Mistral Restaurant. The setting is lovely and service is professional. The breadbasket, filled with mini baguettes and country rolls fresh from the oven, arrives first, but as tempting as it is, leave room for dinner. For starters, try the pan-seared foie gras or the Burgundy snails baked in butter. The signature 14-ounce rib-eye sauced with green peppercorn Cognac is a feast; we also recommend the rack of Australian lamb. There's a simple crêpe Suzette to finish or a chocolate soufflé, which should be ordered when you arrive. It's definitely a special occasion place (the 10-seat chef’s table with its own tasting menu is, especially, a culinary treat), but you can also sample a taste of France without breaking the bank if you stop by for the daily lunch specials.
